Yesterday I was reading in the news about Russia's Roscosmos and US's NASA are joining a project to build a space station that will be in orbit around Earths moon, it will be called Deep Space Gateway and Roscosmos said that the first modules could be ready by 2024 and 2026. What a time we live in to soon have a station that actually implies deep space exploration.

Sound interesting!
But I don't think man kind will be doing deep space exploration anytime soon...
For that we need a way to creater artificial gravity, and a FTL (Faster Then Light) propultion system...
It would, however, be an ideal base for studies using telescopes etc.

Such a station would likely be the center for any short-term exploration of the solar system. Close enough to Earth to be practically here, but only barely inside our gravity well, and close to a huge deposit of titanium, hydrogen, and oxygen, or as they're called in the space biz, "99% of a rocket."
